![]() The starts of basically as you are the young hunter Vahn in a world covered by the infernal Mist. The Mist makes the powerful Seru turn against their Human users. Behind the Mist is a hidden force which soon (with the help of a big ass Seru) attacks your hometown. You beat it, and leave the village. Soon after ( and I mean SOON) you meet up with two new characters Noa and Gala. Yes Gala is a guy, even though the name is a little feminine. Basically, the beginning of the game goes a little quickly, whioch takes away from the character development, doing the game no justice. The characters are in actuallity very deep, you'll find yourself feeling sad with the distressed Noa or the conflicted Gala. There are some other minor characters in the story that you'll find yourself relating with. Yes, Legaia is very deep. The Gameplay is exquisite as Legaia makes excellent use of a new attacking form where you use button combos (the D-Pad) to form out the different formulas for the Arts, or attacks. The system is actually very intresting which kind of disguises the turn based-ness. The moves are smootly animated from using to Seru magic to the advanced Miracle Arts.
Sound, my god the sound. The battle beats can be a little slow at times but at the various towns, castles, monasteries, and after you destroy a Mist Generator in a land, the music booms with beauty. You'll be stunned by the excellent music this game has from Rim Elm to Conkram. Replay, well it would seem at first there ain't much here, but if you look further (especially at Sol), you'll find pretty cool mini-games (well the arena's cool) and ever closer are the hard-to-get hidden Ra-Seru stones. Finally, I strongly suggest buying Legaia, with the decline is the PSX sales, you can get dirt cheap. But, don't let the pakage fool you, there is only one disc.
